BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Oklahoma Awesome Adventures is a one week overnight camp (5 days/4 nights) located in Hugo, OK. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about one of the world’s most endangered species – the Asian Elephant – up close and in person. In addition to earning their Jr. Elephant Ambassador Certification, Campers will also be provided with valuable lessons and enriching activities that will focus on Team Building, Leadership, Community Services and Recreational Fun!

Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, and more.

CAMP LOCATION: Oklahoma Awesome Adventures is located in Hugo, OK, close to Hugo Lake and right next door to the Endangered Ark Foundation, one of the nation's largest private elephant facilities in the United States.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our staff consists of 5 Cabin Counselors and two on-site Camp Directors. All are certified in Red Cross CPR/First Aid. We also have Red Cross certified Life Guards on our team!

Our program objectives are:
Education - Learn all about Asian Elephants and how you can help them to have a brighter future.

​Conservation - Become an elephant ambassador! Learn about preservation efforts and how to safeguard the future of these magnificent animals.

​Community Service - Understand how you can serve your community better and what your community needs.

​Team Building - Learn how to be a part of a team and the importance of working together to make a bigger impact.

​​Leadership - Leadership starts with you! Develop your social, ethical, emotional, and physical skills in a hands-on group setting.

All donations to the Endangered Ark Foundation in the name of Oklahoma Awesome Adventures will go towards helping underprivileged children attend the camp.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Tumbleweed is a day camp for youth with disabilities, ages 14 through 21 years old, in the OKC and surrounding metro area. It combines the traditional elements of a camp – field trips, crafts, and outdoor activities - with opportunities to develop independence and advocacy skills and start to learn about potential job opportunities after high school. Camp is located at the Dale Rogers Training Center campus - 2501 N. Utah Ave. in Oklahoma City. Camp supervisors and staff are experienced in the field of disabilities and currently work in our Transition School-to-Work Program.

CAMP FACILITIES: YMCA Camp Takatoka brings kids from all over the region to the shores of Lake Fort Gibson, just 45 minutes from Tulsa, and situated on 410 acres of beautiful land with diverse geography including lakefront, grass plains, rolling hills and forest. Camp TAK has 12 modern cabins and 2 open air cabins, equipped with an infirmary, dining hall with fireplace and an open air chapel overlooking the lake.

This one-of-a-kind experience includes a one week overnight camp (5 days / 4 nights) located in Hugo, OK, close to Hugo Lake and right next door to the Endangered Ark Foundation, one of the nation's largest private elephant facilities in the United States.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Special needs accomadations will be made for any camper. We will have hands on staff that will assist any needs that need to be met.

CAMP LOCATION: We are located 10 minutes south of the Texas, Oklahoma border. We are 2.5 hours from Tulsa,OK and Dallas, TX, and about 3 hours from OKC, OK.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our Indoor house sleeps 30 with small group rooms. Each room contains its own trained enthusiastic camp counselor., the facility has an in ground swimming pool (with licensed life-gaurd), Hugo Lake trips (with life-guard) boating, tubing (with life-guard) Activity Barn, and daily access to the endangered ark foundation for educational purposes, Dining area, recreational area.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers will become Jr. Elephant Ambassadors: public speaking, science, animal conservation, endangered asian elephant husbandry, arts, leadership, teamwork, competitions.

Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about one of the world’s most endangered species – the Asian Elephant – up close and in person. Campers are given the opportunity to spend their summer exploring God’s creation, High ropes course, canoeing, hiking, epic night games, horseback riding, Frisbee golfing, participating in pool “ Olympics”, taking a ride on the zip line over the pond, playing new games, fellowshipping with their peers and many more exciting activities! Bible based object lessons, parables, and worship encounters are a fundamental part of each day at camp.

CAMP LOCATION: We are located just 40 minutes north of Tulsa, Oklahoma on 88 acres in the Osage Hills. Please visit our website for lots of camp photos and videos.

CAMP FACILITIES: With over 200+ beds, we have 16 cabins with a variety of configurations there is space for everyone. We have a two acre pond with huge slide, jumping tower, basketball court, sand volleyball court, disc golf course, hiking trails, swimming pool and ample sunset watching spots.

Our Summer Camps are designed to accomplish these goals:

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Forerunner Training Camp:
A continuation of SFR’s mission to ‘train up a child’ (Proverbs 22:6). This camp is much different than Teen Camp; exclusively for 11th and 12th grade students, this camp is designed for the camper that desires to transition into being a leader. Ideally this is a two year preparation as they make the transition from camper to staff member. This is a significant mental transition for all those interested in servant leadership at SFR.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Wego offers high-quality tours for teen and adults with special needs year around. Our travel programs are unforgettable adventures. We are not your ordinary travel Camp! On our exciting, supervised educational travel programs, individuals learn new skills, make lifelong friends and explore extraordinary cultures in United States and abroad.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Camp Wego is a Travel camp serving teens and adult with special needs ages 14-65. We are a small travel special needs camp that travel in the United States and abroad. We are able to provide low staffing ratios, 1 to 4. (1:1 if needed) We have highly credentialed and experienced staff so each individuals needs are met. We add new and innovative travel and activities each year.

Our travel is designed to enhance social, friendship, culture, and other vital life skills that promote independence. Camp Wego helps travelers make new friends while traveling in a safe, fun and educational environment.

We offer high-quality supervised tours for teens and adults with special needs year around. Our travel programs are specialized for individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Asperger's syndrome.

Individuals must be ambulatory and be able to take care of personal hygiene needs.
